My name is Caroline H. Schiff, LMSW.
My mission is to help people feel safe and heard, feel understood and empowered, and capable of improving their lives. I practice psychotherapy because of the meaningful relationships built through therapy.
I graduated from Skidmore College where I studied sociology, business management, and classical studies. I received my Masters in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Connecticut’s School of Social Work and am licensed to practice by the state of Connecticut as a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW). I was recognized by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services through a grant for working with Transitioning Youth at Risk. I have worked in an acute hospital setting as well as in adolescent and adult outpatient settings with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. I have also worked in human services and community outreach on local initiatives to serve the community.
I became a psychotherapist because of the incredible way a therapist once helped me. Not only did she help me uncover the roots of what was bothering me and develop a plan for change, but she helped me feel empowered and believe in myself again. I found my love for the helping profession and began my journey towards becoming a psychotherapist.
I balance my work life with a spiritual and active lifestyle. I love fitness both in a gym or studio as well as out in nature, particularly at the beach. I live with the principles of balance, clarity, and wellness.
